SRM IAS Academy

India is undoubtedly seen in the world as a rising economic power with global responsibilities in the international system. Hence the country needs highly talented, efficient and competent group of young men and women to manage the affairs of the government and the issues of social and economic importance as the country charts its course to meet the challenges of modernization and globalization.

Against this exciting backdrop, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) has started an "Academy" that is primarily intended to produce top notch and first rate civil servants who will be well placed to handle the intricate issues of domestic and foreign policy.  The Academy is the brainchild of our Founder Chancellor Dr. Parivendhar.  The SRM IAS Academy trains candidates primarily for national competitive services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The training is also useful for the candidates to appear for examinations conducted at the State levels by the respective State Public Service Commissions and other examinations. Admission to the Academy and the eventual training is open to First Class graduates of any discipline at no cost.

Some of the features of our academy are the air conditioned smart class rooms, well stocked library with Year books, magazines and internet access for students.  Students of the SRM IAS Academy are trained in an academic environment that is dynamic and resourceful.  Apart from regular lectures by eminent scholars, the Academy invites special lectures by officers of IAS and IPS cadres, subject experts and people who have excelled in different disciplines.  This helps to motivate the young aspirants to aim high and to have a better understanding of the day-to-day demands of our nation.

So far this Academy has the distinction of producing seven officers who have taken positions according to their ranks.  Hundreds of students have taken up positions in various other governmental institutions.
